Did you know that untreated allergic disease can be the main cause of many illnesses such as insomnia, sinusitis, headaches & migraines, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, depression, muscle aches, joint pain, back pain and much more!?
Allergy testing, physical exams and your complete medical history are the most reliable, cost-effective, and safe approaches to finding what you are allergic to.
Our allergy test center uses what is called a “scratch test” to find out what you are allergic to. This is done by placing a “skin tester” on your back. The “skin tester” exposes your skin to many different substances at once. Make sure that you avoid any antihistamines for at least 48 hours prior the allergy test to ensure the best results.
The allergy test is 100% safe for all patients.
We do not do food allergy tests for anything that could cause anaphylactic shock like shellfish or peanuts.
This procedure is quick and painless, but if you are allergic to any of the substances, you may experience some itching. This process will only take 20 minutes. Be sure to take this time to ask your allergy doctor any questions.
After we go over your results, our allergy doctor will give you a copy of your results. If needed, you may be recommended a special allergy treatment called home immunotherapy . Home immunotherapy is a process in which a serum (similar to insulin shots) is created based on your test results.
The allergy tech will make sure that you able administer the sreum to yourself correctly by yourself. Over time the serum will build up your immune system to the allergens you are allergic to. This form of allergy treatment saves time because it doesn’t require multiple trips to the doctor’s office.
Please feel free to contact us immediately if you would like to be tested and/or treated for your allergies at The Pain Relief Center in Plano, TX.
ALLERGY TESTING – PLANO, TX
Allergies, also known as allergic diseases, are a number of conditions caused by an overreaction of the immune system to certain substances in the environment.
Although it may seem challenging to discover what you are allergic to, testing performed by an expert can diagnose what does and what does not trigger your actual symptoms. For example, you do not have to get rid of your cat because of your itchy eyes and throat if the actual problem could be identified as mold. Thus, once you know exactly what you are allergic to, you and your doctor can develop a treatment plan to reduce or eliminate your allergy symptoms.
Many patients with untreated allergy symptoms are unaware of how much better they can feel once their symptoms are properly diagnosed and managed. Contact The Pain Relief Center today and speak with our allergy tech if you are being troubled by any of the following symptoms:
- Itchy eyes, nose and throat
- Nasal congestion or runny nose
- Watery eyes
- Hives, itchiness or other skin conditions
- Abdominal pain or diarrhea after eating certain foods
- Severe reactions to insect stings
Our certified allergy technician at The Pain Relief Center performs all allergy testing in our state-of-the-art facility serving Dallas, Plano, Frisco, McKinney & Allen, TX. We test patients for over 80 different allergens including grass, weeds, pollens, trees, dust mites, cat and dog dander, dairy, as well as some additional foods. Many patients are unaware that untreated allergic disease can be an underlying cause of many illnesses such as insomnia, sinusitis, headaches & migraines, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, depression, muscle aches, joint pain, back pain and more. Skin testing combined with a physical examination and medical history of your symptoms is the most reliable, cost-effective, and quickest approach to finding what you are and are not allergic to.
The allergy test performed at The Pain Relief Center is known as a “scratch test” and is done by placing a skin tester on the patient’s back, 10 pricks at a time. The patient must abstain from all antihistamines for at least 48 hours prior to allergen testing to ensure complete and accurate results.
The allergy test is safe for all patients.
We do not test for anything that could cause anaphylactic shocks like shellfish or peanuts.
Although the procedure is quick and painless, the patient may feel some itching which would indicate a reaction. The process will only take about 20 minutes but could require some additional time for completing relevant paperwork and answering any questions you may have.
After the results are read, our allergy tech will give you a copy of the results and may also recommend home immunotherapy, if needed. Home immunotherapy is a process in which a special serum combining relevant allergens are mixed here in the office in order to give injections at home, similar to insulin shots. The tech will train each given patient on how the process is done and the process, in turn, will build up your immune system to the allergens in which you are allergic to. One of the wonderful benefits of home immunotherapy is that it saves our patients time because it doesn’t require multiple trips to the doctor’s office several times a week to receive injections.
